- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups boiling water
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour 15 round cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla; beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
- Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin).
- Pour batter into prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
- Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting between layers and on the outside of the cake.
