A luscious and towering 15 layer chocolate cake that is perfect for any celebration.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour 15 round cake pans.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla; beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  5. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin).
  6. Pour batter into prepared pans.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  9. Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting between layers and on the outside of the cake.

Notes

  • This cake is best served after chilling in the refrigerator for a few hours.
  • Consider adding a raspberry or caramel sauce drizzle for an extra touch.
