Scale
1 cup unsalted butter
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until it becomes golden brown.
In a mixing bowl, combine the brown butter and sugar.
Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt, then slowly add to the wet mixture.
Stir in the buttermilk and vanilla extract until smooth.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding a teaspoon of almond extract or lemon zest.
Make sure not to overmix the batter for a lighter cake.
