  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Mix in the oats, flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  4. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  5. Spread the caramel sauce over the layer of cookie dough.
  6. Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top of the caramel layer.
  7. Top with the remaining cookie dough mixture.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon to the cookie dough.
  • Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent dessert.
