  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups chocolate frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a pound cake pan.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract and cocoa powder.
  6. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk until fully combined.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  9. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool before frosting.
