Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  4. Stir in boiling water until well combined.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
  6. Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  7. Prepare frosting by mixing peanut butter and butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and milk until desired consistency is reached.
  8. Spread frosting between layers and over the top of the cake.
  9. Drizzle with ganache made from chocolate and cream.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate cocoa powder.
  • Ensure the cake is completely cool before frosting to prevent melting.
